Jim Gammon received a BA degree from San Francisco State University in 1972 in Broadcast Communication Arts and a teaching credential and Masters Degree in Special Education from the same institution in 1976. For one year, he worked as a resource teacher in two special education resource rooms for visually impaired children, grades 1 through 8. For three years, he was part of a team that developed science curricula for visually impaired children grades 3 through 6 at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, California. He worked for over thirty years as a Disability Specialist at the University of California Berkeley Disabled Students’ Program. This program is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in the country. Jim has served on the Board of The Hatlen Center for 20 years. Other interests include: playing the trumpet in five different jazz bands and recording short music parts for TV and movies, adaptive computer equipment, amateur radio, and reading. Jim and his wife have an adult daughter and live in El Cerrito, CA.
