Patti Maffei

Program Director

Patti Maffei was promoted to the position of Program Director in 2006 after having worked as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor at The Hatlen Center for 15 years. A respected authority in the field of Mobility, she has lectured and presented workshops at professional conferences all over the nation, and has served as a master Teacher for numerous graduate interns. Since becoming Program Director, Patti has taken on managing a major portion of The Center’s administrative requirements, and has continued to train new instructors. In addition, she has been the driving force behind the establishment of The Hatlen Center’s national program, which officially launched in September 2006. Currently she is authoring a book that will be published by the American Printing House for the Blind. Patti holds an M.A. in Special Education/Orientation and Mobility from San Francisco State University. She is ACVREP certified in Orientation and Mobility.
